Q: When I give online, is it still an act of worship?
If you choose to give via this online service, we encourage you to do so with reverence (though that may seem odd) and with a prayer. When the offering is received during Sunday morning worship, recall your act of giving online with thanksgiving in your heart.
Q: Is it safe to give online?
It is as secure as the other online payment systems you currently trust (Amazon, utilities, etc.) In this age, nothing is invulnerable. The security of the system is continually managed and monitored by Easy Tithe.
Q: What types of bank accounts can I give from?
You can give online from your bank checking account via debit card. “True” debit cards which require a Personal Identification Number (PIN) with every transaction (even online) are not accepted. If you have used your card previously for an online payment, it will likely be accepted. You can also give using MasterCard and Visa credit cards if that somehow benefits you – though we strongly discourage giving in any way that cannot be paid off immediately when due.
Q: Are there any fees involved with giving online?
Yes, but not to you. You will not pay any fees with an online gift. You will receive full “charitable gift” credit for your donation. The church however, will pay a fee for this service: 3% of your donation will go to Easy Tithe for providing and administering this service.
Q: Can I make a one-time contribution?
Yes. The system allows the option of making a one-time contribution or setting up automatically recurring contributions. For a one-time contribution, you can designate that the contribution should be made immediately or, for both one-time and recurring contributions, you can schedule the contributions to come out of your bank account on the date(s) specified by you.
Q: If I want to set up a recurring gift, what are my options for frequency of my gift?
For recurring gifts, you have the option of giving weekly, twice a month, or once a month.
Q: Can I change my personal information or the amount or the frequency of my gift once I have set it up?
Yes. You can change or cancel your contribution at any time before the date of your next contribution. Simply log in to the system using your user name and password and make the necessary changes in the system.
Q: Can I review my donation history online?
Yes. The site allows you to view and print the complete history of your contributions that have been given online.
Q: Will I still receive an annual (sometimes quarterly) contribution statement from the church?
Q: When will contributions be withdrawn from my account?
Contributions will be withdrawn from your specified bank account within 48 business hours of the date you request. This time frame allows for the contribution to process through your bank and the church's bank. If the date of your contribution falls on a weekend or a holiday, the transaction will be initiated on the next banking day.
Q: Can I designate my gift to a particular cause?
Gifts can be designated to any of the giving categories which the church sets up within the Easy Tithe system.
Q: How will I know that I set up my gift correctly?
After submitting your contribution, you will promptly receive an e-mail verifying your contribution. (check spam folder if it does not appear in your email)
